THE CONSTRUCTIVISTS ANNOUNCE CASTING AND CREATIVE TEAM FOR WISCONSIN PREMIERE OF JACQUELINE GOLDFINGER’S “BABEL” 

Tuesday, January 11, 2022 – (Milwaukee) The Constructivists are pleased to announce the Cast and Creative Team of BABEL, by JACQUELINE GOLDFINGER, opening Saturday, March 19, 2022 and running until Saturday, April 2, 2022. The Production will be directed by Artistic Director Jaimelyn Gray and performed at the Broadway Theatre Center Studio, 158 N. Broadway, Milwaukee.

Babel is a dark comedy set in the near future about two couples trying hard to get pregnant. Their desperation for a baby raises the specter of eugenics and asks us what we are willing to risk for love. The talented ensemble is comprised of returning artists Maya Danks (s/h) (The Nether, Women Laughing Alone with Salad) as Dani, and Logan Milway (h/h) (The Pillowman) as Jamie, and welcomes new artists to the Constructivists Nicole McCarty (s/h) (Black Arts MKE, Milwaukee Opera Theatre) as Renee, and Ashley Oviedo (s/h) (Skylight Music Theatre, Kohl’s Wild Theatre) as Ann. They will be joined by a Creative Team comprised of Constructivists Artists Sarah Harris (Set/Costume Design), Les Zarzecki (h/h) (Set Construction), Associate Artist Laura Sturm (s/h) (Meisner, Voice, Movement, Intimacy), returning artists to the Constructivists Ellie Rabinowitz (s/h) (Lighting Design), Derly Vela (h/h) (Sound Design), and Ekene Ikegwauni (th/th) (Sound Composition), Matthew Huebsch (h/h) (Media/Videography) and new Constructivists team member Ky Peters (th/th) (Stage Management).

Jacqueline Goldfinger (She/They) won the Yale Drama Prize, Smith Prize, Generations Award, Brown Martin Award, Barrymore Award, and OPERA America Discovery Award (with Composer Melissa Dunphy). Her plays have been on The Kilroy’s List. She’s been a Finalist for the LAMBDA Literary Award, Henley Award, Woodward-Newman Award, and received a Special Citation from the McNally Award.

COVID Protocols

The Constructivists have joined other Milwaukee performing arts organizations in requiring proof of vaccination or negative Covid test within 72 hours of performance for all audience members ages 12 and up. In addition, The Constructivists requires audiences to be masked at all times while in the Broadway Theatre Center, regardless of vaccination status. Please review all COVID protocols and bring either your card or negative test result, and your ID, with you on your chosen performance day.

Tickets will be available through the Broadway Theatre Center Box Office and will be $20, though to avoid BTC fees we encourage you to purchase at the door.
