Jim (he/him) has been an actor and director in Milwaukee for more than half a century, having arrived in our city at the same time as Robin Yount. He and his late wife, Rose Pickering were members of Milwaukee Rep's Resident Acting Company for 38 years. An Associate Artist at the Rep his favorite roles there include Richard Harkin in The Seafarer, Candy in Of Mice and Men, Niels Bohr in Copenhagen, and Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, a role he performed 450 times on the stage of the historic Pabst Theatre. He has appeared for many other of Wisconsin's theatre companies as well, notably American Players Theatre, Forward Theater, Next Act Theater, and Renaissance TheatreWorks.  Most recently he was seen as David in I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard with The Constructivists, Phil Hogan in A Moon for the Misbegotten with Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, and Titus Andronicus with Sunstone Studios. He and his wife, actress Tami Workentin, make their home in Bay View. They are currently in the process of writing their first play.
